A Special Marine Warning has been issued by the National Weather Service in Newport/Morehead City NC. It is effective from 11:10 AM EDT until 1:15 PM EDT on April 19, 2026.
Affected Areas
The warning affects Alligator River; S of Currituck Beach Light NC to Oregon Inlet NC out to 20 NM; Waters from Currituck Beach Light to Oregon Inlet NC from 20 to 60 NM; Albemarle Sound; and Croatan and Roanoke Sounds. Specific locations impacted include Kitty Hawk, Kill Devil Hills, The Center Of The Albemarle Sound, The Center Of Croatan Sound, Highway 94 Bridge, The Vicinity Of Frying Pan, Ar145, The Mouth Of The Perquimans River, Alligator River Bridge, Nags Head, The Vicinity Of Mashoes, Ar140, Ar130, Oregon Inlet, The Vicinity Of Gum Neck, The Center Of Roanoke Sound, Bull Bay/scuppernong River, Duck, and The Mouth Of The Alligator River.
