EWWGUM The National Weather Service in Tiyan Guam has issued a * Extreme Wind Warning for... Saipan Tinian * Until 300 AM ChST. * At 1154 PM ChST, Andersen AFB Doppler radar indicated extreme winds, associated with the eyewall of Super Typhoon Sinlaku, with the eye passing over Tinian and Saipan. Super Typhoon Sinlaku is moving around 5 mph according the radar. Winds may become relatively calm in the eye but extremely dangerous winds will soon return on the back side of Super Typhoon Sinlaku. THIS IS AN EXTREMELY DANGEROUS AND LIFE-THREATENING SITUATION!

What the agency told people to do

The safest place to be during a major landfalling hurricane is in a reinforced interior room away from windows. Get under a table or other piece of sturdy furniture. Use mattresses, blankets or pillows to cover your head and body. Remain in place through the passage of these life-threatening conditions. Do not venture out into the relative calm of the eye if it pass over you. Extremely dangerous winds will soon return on the back side of Super Typhoon Sinlaku.
