Extreme Wind Warning: Saipan and Tinian, MP

EWWGUM The National Weather Service in Tiyan Guam has issued a * Extreme Wind Warning for... Saipan Tinian * Until 130 PM ChST. * At 1228 PM ChST, satellite shows the center of Typhoon Sinlaku just northwest of Tinian and Saipan, moving very slowly to the northwest. The outer extent of the extreme winds associated with the eyewall are beginning to move away from the islands, and are expected to decrease below the threshold of sustained 115 mph wind speeds within the next hour. The center of Typhoon Sinlaku was moving northwest at 3 to 4 mph. Saipan and Tinian are southeast of the eye and eyewall, according to satellite imagery. THIS IS AN EXTREMELY DANGEROUS AND LIFE-THREATENING SITUATION!

Widespread destructive winds in excess of 115 mph are expected. TAKE COVER NOW! Move immediately to an interior room in your shelter. Take action now to protect your life! The safest place to be during this situation is in a reinforced interior room away from windows. Put as many walls between yourself and the outside as possible. Remain in shelter through the passage of these life-threatening conditions.
