EWWGUM The National Weather Service in Tiyan Guam has issued a * Extreme Wind Warning for... Saipan Tinian * Until 715 AM ChST. * At 510 AM ChST, surface observations indicated extreme winds, associated with the eyewall of Typhoon Sinlaku. the typhoon eyewall was moving northwest at 5 mph. Saipan and Tinian are currently in the eyewall east of the eye according to satellite imagery. THIS IS AN EXTREMELY DANGEROUS AND LIFE-THREATENING SITUATION!

What the agency told people to do

The safest place to be during a major landfalling hurricane is in a reinforced interior room away from windows. Get under a table or other piece of sturdy furniture. Use mattresses, blankets or pillows to cover your head and body. Remain in place through the passage of these life-threatening conditions.
