Free City Tools
Areazine's free tools compare, rank, and check any U.S. city using the same federal datasets that power the rest of the site.
Three interactive tools turn raw federal data into answers you can act on: rank a city against its state peers, compare cost of living between two cities, and check a ZIP code's safety profile. No login, no email, no fees. Each tool runs in your browser using Areazine's curated city dataset sourced from Census ACS, BEA RPP, CDC PLACES, FBI UCR, NCES, and CMS Hospital Compare.
Enter a U.S. city to see where it ranks against every other city in the same state across income, home value, rent, and population.
Open tool →Compare two U.S. cities side-by-side: median income, rent, home value, poverty rate, and unemployment, sourced from Census ACS 5-Year.
Open tool →Type a U.S. ZIP or city name. We return the matching county, state-level crime rates from FBI UCR, and the nearest profile page for deeper exploration.

Federal datasets are technically free, but practically inaccessible. Census tables download as 200-MB CSVs with cryptic column names. BEA's regional price parity sits behind a spreadsheet wall. FBI UCR ships in PDF tables. We wrote the joins, the geographic normalization, and the comparison logic so you can answer one specific question in under five seconds.
Tools update each time we refresh the underlying datasets (typically quarterly). Source and vintage are shown on every result.
