Affected Areas
Upper Derwent Valley, South East, East Coast, Midlands and parts of Western, North East, Central North and Central Plateau forecast districts in Tasmania. Locations which may be affected include St Helens, Swansea, New Norfolk, Hobart, Oatlands, Bicheno, Orford, Bothwell and Geeveston. Warning for North West Coast district is cancelled.

Expected Conditions
Damaging wind gusts in excess of 100 km/h have developed, including in Hobart, and are expected to continue into this evening. Damaging northwesterly winds averaging 65 to 75 km/h are likely over elevated terrain. Recorded gusts include 102 km/h at Hobart City, 104 km/h at Hobart Airport, 128 km/h at Kunanyi (Mt Wellington), 137 km/h at Scotts Peak Dam and 117 km/h at Bruny Island.
Timeline
A strong cold front is forecast to cross the state this evening, reaching the west coast in the early evening and moving into the Tasman Sea by early Monday morning. Winds have begun to ease from the west and will clear the remainder of the state by early Monday morning. The next Severe Weather Warning will be issued by 11:00 pm AEST Sunday.
