Alert Details
The National Weather Service in Kansas City/Pleasant Hill MO has issued a Tornado Warning for southeastern Wyandotte County and northeastern Johnson County in Kansas, as well as west central Jackson County in Missouri. This alert was issued at 11:35 PM CST on March 6 and remains in effect until 12:00 AM CST on March 7.

The warning covers a broad portion of the Kansas City metropolitan area, including the following locations:
- Kansas: Kansas City (KS), Overland Park, Shawnee, Lenexa, Leawood, Prairie Village, Merriam, Mission, Edwardsville, Fairway, Mission Hills, Westwood, Lake Quivira, Westwood Hills, Mission Woods, Countryside, and Roeland Park.
- Missouri: Kansas City (MO), Raytown, and North Kansas City.

- Interstate 70 in Missouri (mile markers 0-9) and Kansas (mile markers 416-423).
- Interstate 35 in Missouri (mile markers 0-4) and Kansas (mile markers 224-235).

Expected Conditions
At 11:35 PM CST, radar indicated rotation in a severe thunderstorm located over Lake Quivira, moving east at 40 mph.
- Hazards: Tornado and hail up to .75 inches.
- Impacts: Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without shelter. Mobile homes will be damaged or destroyed. Damage to roofs, windows, and vehicles is expected, and tree damage is likely.
