Alert Details

A Storm Warning has been issued by the National Weather Service in Medford, OR. This alert is currently in effect and will remain active until early Sunday morning.

Affected Areas

The warning covers all coastal waters within 10 nautical miles of the shore, specifically from Florence to Cape Blanco, Oregon, and from Cape Blanco, Oregon, to Point Saint George, California.

What You Should Do

Mariners are strongly advised to remain in port, alter course, or secure their vessels immediately. The combination of very strong winds and very steep seas could capsize or damage vessels. Additionally, visibilities will be significantly reduced during this period.

Expected Conditions

For the duration of the Storm Warning, southeast winds of 35 to 45 knots are expected, with gusts reaching up to 55 knots. Seas are forecast to be between 15 and 23 feet at 12-second intervals. Following the storm, a Gale Warning period will see south winds of 25 to 35 knots and seas of 14 to 20 feet. A subsequent Hazardous Seas Warning period will involve very steep seas of 11 to 17 feet.
