The National Weather Service in Mount Holly NJ has issued a Special Marine Warning (SMWPHI) for the coastal and outer waters of New Jersey. This alert was issued at 9:16 PM EDT on March 11, 2026, following radar detection of severe thunderstorms.

Mariners and residents in the affected areas should move to safe harbor immediately. Gusty winds and high waves are expected. Waterspouts can easily overturn boats and create locally hazardous seas, while small craft could be damaged by briefly higher winds and suddenly higher waves.
