A Severe Thunderstorm Warning (SVR) has been issued by the National Weather Service in Kansas City/Pleasant Hill MO. The alert is effective from June 13, 2026 at 8:24 PM CDT until June 13, 2026 at 9:30 PM CDT.

The warning covers Southwestern Clinton County, Clay County, and Platte County in northwestern and west central Missouri. Locations impacted include Kansas City, Liberty, Gladstone, Lansing, Excelsior Springs, Smithville, Kearney, Parkville, Platte City, Lawson, Weatherby Lake, Claycomo, Kansas City Intl Arpt, Pleasant Valley, Lake Waukomis, Trimble, Glenaire, Camden Point, Ferrelview, and Holt. Affected highways include Interstate 35 between mile markers 13 and 33, Interstate 29 between mile markers 5 and 28, and Interstate 435 between mile markers 21 and 51.

Expected Conditions
At 8:23 PM CDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line extending from near Camden Point to Platte City to near Weatherby Lake, moving southeast at 40 mph. Hazards include 70 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail (1.00 inch). Hail damage to vehicles is expected, along with considerable tree damage and wind damage to mobile homes, roofs, and outbuildings. Tornado detection is possible.
