The National Weather Service in Indianapolis IN has issued a Flood Warning for the Big Blue River at Shelbyville. This alert follows significant rainfall across central Indiana, where between 2 and 4 inches of rain have fallen as of early Wednesday morning. Additional rain is expected over the next several days, causing creeks and rivers to rise.

While minor flooding is currently forecast, impacts can be significant; at 14.0 feet, flooding begins to affect business and residential property, and West Washington Avenue east of the rendering plant begins to flood.
