A Flash Flood Warning has been issued by the National Weather Service El Paso Tx/Santa Teresa NM. The alert is effective from 11:30 AM MDT to 1:30 PM MDT on June 2, 2026.

This is a life threatening situation. Heavy rainfall will cause extensive and severe flash flooding of creeks, streams, and ditches in the Salt Burn Scar. Severe debris flows can also be anticipated across roads. Roads and driveways may be washed away in places. If you encounter flood waters, climb to safety. Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Campers and hikers should avoid streams or creeks.
Expected Conditions
Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain over the Salt Burn Scar. Between 1 and 1.3 inches of rain have fallen, with additional rainfall amounts up to 1 inch possible. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly.
