The Environment Agency has issued a flood alert for the Eastern Yar in the Solent and South Downs region. The alert was raised on February 23, 2026, at 4:43 PM following a period of high river levels.
Affected Areas
The alert specifically covers the Eastern Yar on the Isle of Wight. Flooding is currently affecting Golf Links Road and Moreton Common Road. Additionally, ditches around Fort Holiday Park are struggling to drain. Low-lying land, roads, cycle tracks, and footpaths close to the river are also at risk. While levels remain high at Sandown, no flooding impacts are expected at Langbridge and Alverstone.
