What Happened
Shield Line LLC is recalling MedPride Baby Oil bottles because the packaging is not child-resistant. The baby oil contains low-viscosity hydrocarbons that must be in child-resistant packaging under the Poison Prevention Packaging Act. The current packaging poses a risk of serious injury or illness from poisoning if swallowed by young children, and petroleum distillates can enter the lungs causing chemical pneumonia or pulmonary damage that can be fatal.

The recall involves MedPride Baby Oil in clear bottles with pink caps and white and pink labels bearing the "MedPride" logo. About 8,420 units were sold at Ross, DD's, Variety Wholesalers and Burlington stores nationwide from February 2025 through December 2025 for about $13, and at various discount and medical supply stores primarily in the New York tri-state area such as 1$ Zone and Yong Tai Discount, as well as online at Amazon.com by HL Medical from November 2025 through March 2026 for about $8.
