TORRAH The National Weather Service in Raleigh has issued a * Tornado Warning for... Northeastern Lee County in central North Carolina... Southwestern Wake County in central North Carolina... Southeastern Chatham County in central North Carolina... * Until 1215 PM EDT. * At 1152 AM EDT, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado was located 9 miles southeast of Pittsboro, moving northeast at 25 mph. HAZARD...Tornado. SOURCE...Radar indicated rotation. IMPACT...Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without shelter. Mobile homes will be damaged or destroyed. Damage to roofs, windows, and vehicles will occur. Tree damage is likely. * This tornadic thunderstorm will remain over mainly rural areas of northeastern Lee, southwestern Wake and southeastern Chatham Counties, including the following locations... Jordan Lake State Rec Area, Crosswinds Boating Center, Seaforth Boat Dock, Crosswinds Campground, and New Hill. This includes US 1 between Mile Markers 78 and 98.
