Eastern Washington County in southwestern Virginia... * Until 500 PM EDT. * At 415 PM EDT, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado was located near Abingdon, moving southeast at 35 mph. HAZARD...Tornado and half dollar size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated rotation. IMPACT...Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without shelter. Mobile homes will be damaged or destroyed. Damage to roofs, windows, and vehicles will occur. Tree damage is likely. * This dangerous storm will be near... Abingdon around 420 PM EDT. Other locations impacted by this tornadic thunderstorm include Lindell, Damascus, Laurel Bloomery, Konnarock, Glade Spring, and Emory-Meadowview. This includes Interstate 81 in Virginia between mile markers 16 and 32.
