TORILM The National Weather Service in Wilmington has issued a * Tornado Warning for... Southeastern Bladen County in southeastern North Carolina... Northeastern Columbus County in southeastern North Carolina... Northwestern Pender County in southeastern North Carolina... * Until 130 PM EDT. * At 1252 PM EDT, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado was located near Sandyfield, or 20 miles east of Whiteville, moving northeast at 40 mph. HAZARD...Tornado. SOURCE...Radar indicated rotation. IMPACT...Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without shelter. Mobile homes will be damaged or destroyed. Damage to roofs, windows and vehicles will occur. Tree damage is likely. * Locations impacted include... Burgaw, Rowan, Sandyfield, Point Caswell, Rooks, Currie, The Borough, Kelly, Wards Corner, Malpass Corner, East Arcadia, Atkinson and Pender Memorial Hospital.

What the agency told people to do

Move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a well-built building away from windows. If you are outdoors, in a mobile home, or in a vehicle, move to the closest substantial shelter and protect yourself from flying debris.
