TORCYS The National Weather Service in Cheyenne has issued a * Tornado Warning for... Southwestern Morrill County in the Panhandle of Nebraska... Eastern Banner County in the Panhandle of Nebraska... * Until 700 PM MDT. * At 612 PM MDT, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado was located 7 miles southwest of McGrew, or 17 miles southeast of Scottsbluff, moving southeast at 35 mph. HAZARD...Tornado and baseball size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated rotation. IMPACT...Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without shelter. Mobile homes will be damaged or destroyed. Damage to roofs, windows, and vehicles will occur. Tree damage is likely. * This tornadic thunderstorm will remain over mainly rural areas of southwestern Morrill and eastern Banner Counties, including the following locations... Wrights Gap.

What the agency told people to do

TAKE COVER NOW! Move to a basement or an interior room on the lowest floor of a sturdy building. Avoid windows. If you are outdoors, in a mobile home, or in a vehicle, move to the closest substantial shelter and protect yourself from flying debris. This is a dangerous storm, producing large hail driven by severe winds! SEEK SHELTER NOW inside a sturdy structure and stay away from windows! If you are caught outdoors, cover your head and neck.
