The Upper and Lower Niagara River and Buffalo Harbor... * Until 815 PM EDT. * At 614 PM EDT, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing waterspouts was located 30 nm west of Niagara River, moving southeast at 35 knots. HAZARD...Waterspouts, wind gusts to 40 knots, and large hail. SOURCE...Radar. IMPACT...Waterspouts can easily overturn boats and create locally hazardous seas. Small craft could be damaged in briefly higher winds and suddenly higher waves. Large hail could result in structural damage. * Locations impacted include... Small Boat Harbor, Lake Erie Beach, Youngstown, Grand Island, Wanakah, Lewiston, Woodlawn Beach, Erie Basin Marina, Sturgeon Point, Athol Springs, and Bayview.

A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 1100 PM EDT for western New York...the adjacent waters of Lake Erie...and the adjacent waters of Lake Ontario. Move to safe harbor immediately as gusty winds and high waves are expected. Thunderstorms can produce sudden waterspouts. Waterspouts can easily overturn boats and create locally hazardous seas. Seek safe harbor immediately.
