Lake Ontario from Hamlin Beach to Mexico Bay ... * Until 815 PM EDT. * At 620 PM EDT, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing waterspouts was located 11 nm north of Hamlin Beach, moving east at 40 knots. HAZARD...Waterspouts, wind gusts to 40 knots, and large hail. SOURCE...Radar. IMPACT...Waterspouts can easily overturn boats and create locally hazardous seas. Small craft could be damaged in briefly higher winds and suddenly higher waves. Large hail could result in structural damage. * Locations impacted include... Oswego, Ontario Beach, Ontario On The Lake, Hamlin Beach, Sodus Bay, Irondequoit Bay, and Fair Haven.

A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 1100 PM EDT for central and western New York...and the adjacent waters of Lake Ontario. Move to safe harbor immediately as gusty winds and high waves are expected. Thunderstorms can produce sudden waterspouts. Waterspouts can easily overturn boats and create locally hazardous seas. Seek safe harbor immediately.
