Southeastern Watonwan County in south central Minnesota... * Until 830 PM CDT. * At 748 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado was located near Truman, or 11 miles north of Fairmont, moving northeast at 30 mph. HAZARD...Tornado. SOURCE...Radar indicated rotation. IMPACT...Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without shelter. Mobile homes will be damaged or destroyed. Damage to roofs, windows and vehicles will occur. Tree damage is likely. * This tornado will be near... Truman around 755 PM CDT. Lewisville around 805 PM CDT. Vernon Center around 825 PM CDT.
What the agency told people to do
Move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a well-built building away from windows. If you are outdoors, in a mobile home, or in a vehicle, move to the closest substantial shelter and protect yourself from flying debris.
