A Special Marine Warning has been issued by the National Weather Service in New Orleans LA. The alert is effective from September 1, 2026 at 1:00 AM CDT until September 1, 2026 at 2:00 AM CDT.
Affected Areas
Coastal Waters from Port Fourchon LA to Lower Atchafalaya River LA out 20 nm and Coastal waters from Port Fourchon Louisiana to Lower Atchafalaya River LA from 20 to 60 NM. Locations impacted include Caillou Bay.

A cluster of severe thunderstorms capable of producing waterspouts was located 12 nm southwest of Caillou Bay, moving north at 35 knots. Hazards include waterspouts and wind gusts 34 knots or greater.
