Coastal waters from Surf City to Cape Fear NC out 20 nm... Waters from Little River Inlet SC to South Santee River SC from 20 to 60 NM... Waters from Surf City NC to Little River Inlet SC from 20 to 60 NM... * Until 800 PM EDT. * At 558 PM EDT, strong thunderstorms were located along a line extending from 14 nm northwest of Surf City to 22 nm north of Holden Beach to 34 nm northwest of Myrtle Beach, moving east at 35 knots. HAZARD...Wind gusts to 40 knots and small hail. SOURCE...Radar. IMPACT...Small craft could be damaged in briefly higher winds and suddenly higher waves. * Locations impacted include... Ten Mile Reef, Wreck 33, Masonboro Sea Buoy, Frying Pan Shoals Buoy, Harris Reef, City Of Houston, 10 Mile Rocks, Little River Sea Buoy, Gary Ennis Reef, Sheepshead Rock, Buoy Off Carolina Beach, Frying Pan Shoals Light Tower, Wr2, Wr4, Sherman Wreck, Bill Perry Junior Reef, Cape Fear Knuckle Buoy, 5 Mile Boxcars, Sunset Mid Shelf Buoy, and 10 Mile Boxcars.

Boaters should seek safe harbor immediately until these storms pass. If caught on the open water, prepare for deteriorating conditions. Make sure you and your crew are wearing properly fitted life jackets. Frequent lightning is occurring with these storms. If caught on the open water stay below deck if possible, keep away from ungrounded metal objects.
