Flood Warning issued by NWS Charleston WV. Effective from May 25 at 1:08 AM EDT until May 25 at 6:30 AM EDT.
Affected Areas
Northeastern Braxton County, northeastern Gilmer County, southeastern Doddridge County, southwestern Harrison County, and Lewis County in northern West Virginia. Specific locations include Weston, Stonewall Jackson, Jackson Mill, Jane Lew, Camden, Alum Bridge, Sand Run, Linn, Baldwin and Troy. Impacted highways include Interstate 79 between mile markers 83 and 105 and Route 33 near mile marker 1.
What You Should Do
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding. Report flooding to the National Weather Service by calling toll free 800-401-9535 when you can do so safely.
Expected Conditions
Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. Between 1 and 2.5 inches of rain have fallen with additional rainfall amounts up to 0.5 inches possible. Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring.
