* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is occurring. * WHERE...East Central Lycoming County in north central Pennsylvania... South Central Sullivan County in north central Pennsylvania... * WHEN...Until 215 AM EDT. * IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. This areal flood warning replaces the earlier flash flood warning. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 1015 PM EDT, Between 2 and 5 inches of rain have fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts up to 1 inch are possible in the warned area. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Hughesville, Muncy Valley, Lairdsville and Picture Rocks. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood

What the agency told people to do

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding. Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.
