Flood Warning issued by NWS Quad Cities IA IL on June 17 at 8:58PM CDT. The alert is in effect from Thursday afternoon to Saturday afternoon.

Affected Areas

Iowa River near Lone Tree affecting Louisa, Johnson and Washington Counties. Iowa River at Wapello and Oakville affecting Louisa County.

What You Should Do

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive cars through flooded areas.

Expected Conditions

Minor flooding is forecast. At 8:00 PM CDT Wednesday the stage was 15.4 feet and rising. The river will rise to 15.7 feet just after midnight tonight, rise above flood stage (16.0 feet) to 17.4 feet early Friday afternoon, then fall below flood stage late Saturday morning. At 18.0 feet, Sand Road closes south of 520th Street to the Highway 22 intersection.
