Flood Warning issued by NWS Blacksburg VA. Effective from August 2, 2026 at 11:44 PM EDT until August 3, 2026 at 4:00 AM EDT. Replaces Flash Flood Warning.
Affected Areas
Greenbrier County and Summers County in southeast West Virginia. Specific locations include Rainelle, Rupert, Quinwood, Sandstone, Meadow Bluff, Lawn and Elton. Impacted streams and drainages include Kitchen Creek, Lick Creek, Beaver Creek, Laurel Creek, Boggs Creek, Eagle Branch, Burdette Creek, Little Clear Creek, Meadow River, Meadow Creek, Fisher Creek, Little Creek and Big Clear Creek.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding. When safe, send reports of flooding, mudslides or flooded roads to the National Weather Service by calling 1-866-215-4324 or via NWS Blacksburg Facebook and X.
Expected Conditions
Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams and other low-lying flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. Between 1.5 and 3 inches of rain have fallen from heavy rain due to thunderstorms.
