Alert Details
Flood Warning issued by NWS Charleston WV at 11:44 PM EDT on August 2, effective immediately until 4:00 AM EDT on August 3. The alert replaces a prior Flash Flood Warning.
Affected Areas
Southeastern Fayette County, southwestern Nicholas County, southeastern Raleigh County, east central McDowell County, and southeastern Wyoming County in West Virginia. Specific locations include Babcock State Park, Northfork, Shady Spring, Daniels, Beaver, Stanaford, Piney View, Coal City, Meadow Bridge, Keystone, Anawalt, Ghent, Josephine, Herndon, and Maybeury. Impacted highways include Interstate 64 between mile markers 123 and 136 and West Virginia Turnpike between mile markers 28 and 38.

Expected Conditions
Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected, with 2 to 4 inches of rain already fallen from thunderstorms. Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring.
