Flood Warning issued by NWS Pittsburgh PA. Effective from 4:45 AM EDT until 9:00 AM EDT on August 11, 2026.
Affected Areas
Eastern Fayette County in southwestern Pennsylvania, southern Westmoreland County in southwestern Pennsylvania, and northern Preston County in northeastern West Virginia. Specific locations include Uniontown, Connellsville, South Connellsville, Farmington, Seven Springs, Fairchance, Dunbar, Markleysburg, Chalkhill, Ohiopyle, Mill Run, Indian Head and Normalville.
What You Should Do
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding.
Expected Conditions
Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms produced 1.5 to 4 inches of rain. Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. Streams continue to rise due to excess runoff from earlier rainfall.
