Flood Warning issued by NWS Charleston WV. Effective from August 17 at 9:00 PM EDT until August 18 at 1:00 AM EDT.
Affected Areas
Northwestern Barbour County, southeastern Harrison County, and southwestern Taylor County in northern West Virginia. Specific locations include Clarksburg, Philippi, Stonewood, Nutter Fort, Anmoore, West Milford, Lost Creek, Galloway, and Moatsville. Interstate 79 between mile markers 111 and 117 is included.

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding. Report flooding to the National Weather Service by calling toll free 800-401-9535 when you can do so safely.
Expected Conditions
Flooding caused by prior excessive rainfall is expected. Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is occurring. Between 1 and 2 inches of rain fell earlier. Lingering high water issues reported across the warned area.
