FFWGSP The National Weather Service in Greenville-Spartanburg has extended the * Flash Flood Warning for... Spartanburg County in upstate South Carolina... * Until 530 AM EDT. * At 426 AM EDT, a prolonged period of steady rainfall has produced 3-6 inches across Spartanburg County, saturating area soils and causing isolated areas of nuisance flooding. Additional rain may move into the eastern part of the county, impacting Cross Anchor, Enoree, and Pauline. * Areas of greatest concern include along Lawsons Fork Creek and Meadow Creek near Inman; the South Pacolet River, Motlow Creek, and Holston Creek near Campobello; Bear Creek and Obed Creek north of Lake Bowen; and areas near Croft State Park. Earlier, Glendale Fire Department reported nuisance flooding along Country Club Rd near Church St. Flood conditions there are likely to worsen. Please obey all barricades and avoid flooded roadways. Only a few inches of water can strand your vehicle. * Additional areas of Minor Flooding are expected to develop over the next 1-3 hours. Please obey all barricades and heed all evacuation orders from local Emergency Management officials. HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by heavy rain. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Expect flash flooding of low-lying areas near streams, including parks, trails, low-water crossings, boat- access areas, and campgrounds. Significant flooding of poor-drainage areas are likely, impacting travel. Low-lying roadways are likely to be flooded, requiring barricades. * Some locations that may experience flash flooding include... Spartanburg, Boiling Springs SC, Woodruff, Lyman, Pacolet, Cowpens, Wellford, Inman, Mayo and Roebuck.
