FFWPSR The National Weather Service in Phoenix has issued a * Flash Flood Warning for... South Central Imperial County in southeastern California... * Until 245 AM PDT. * At 1156 PM PDT, Doppler radar indicated additional thunderstorms with heavy rain moving into the warned area. Up to 1 inch of rain has fallen from earlier activity. Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1 inch are possible with the next round of rain in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly. HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding. Thunderstorms producing flash flooding. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Life threatening flash flooding of creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses. * Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... El Centro, Calexico, Brawley, Imperial, Holtville, El Centro Naval Airfield, Mt. Signal, Heber, Alamorio, Seeley and Bonds Corner.

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding.
