The notice as issued
Due to Windermere Lake remaining high following recent rainfall a Flood Alert will remain in force. Windermere Lake level is currently receding and will continue to do so over the coming days as high pressure builds bringing a period of settled and dry weather. Locations most affected will be the rivers Brathay, Rothay, Winster and other watercourses from Grasmere to Grange-over-Sands, including low lying areas around Ambleside, Skelwith Bridge, Windermere, Hawkshead, Newby Bridge, Backbarrow, Cark and Cartmel. We continue to closely monitor the situation. Take care and avoid walking, cycling or driving through flood water. This message will be updated by 9:00AM on Friday 30 October or as the situation changes.
