The notice as issued
This warning is in effect for parts of the coast due to the following hazard(s): - Moderate storm surge - Higher than normal water levels - Sea Ice Storm surge is expected on Friday October 2, 2026 at Herschel Island, starting early in the morning and ending by noon. The highest water levels are expected to reach 15 to 20 cm above highest astronomical tide. Minor to moderate flooding is expected. These conditions will cause damage to infrastructure near the coast, including boats beached or anchored along the shoreline. This warning is issued when high water levels pose a threat to coastal regions due to tides, storm surge and/or waves. Please continue to monitor alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada.
