The notice as issued
Blizzard conditions with poor visibility in snow and blowing snow are expected. What: - Very strong winds gusting to 100 km/h near the Richardson Mountains - Blizzard conditions near the Richardson Mountains When: Sunday. Where: Dempster Highway. Additional information: A wide variety of weather conditions is expected on the Dempster Highway on Sunday as a weather system crosses the area. Beginning early Sunday morning, snow will develop across the southern half of the Dempster. Generally, five centimetres of snow is expected. Very strong easterly winds gusting to 100 km/h will develop near the Richardson Mountains with this weather system. As the system moves north on Sunday, falling snow will combine with the very strong easterly winds near the Richardson Mountains to produce blizzard conditions with near-zero visibility by midday. Occasional blowing snow will continue Sunday night with lighter wind speeds and a chance of flurries. Travel will likely be hazardous in some locations.
