Hawk Channel from west end of Seven Mile Bridge to Halfmoon Shoal out to the reef... * Until 830 PM EDT. * At 734 PM EDT, strong thunderstorms were located along a line extending from 6 nm west of Smith Shoal Light to near Boca Grande, moving northeast at 20 knots. HAZARD...Wind gusts 34 knots or greater. SOURCE...National Weather Service Meteorologist. IMPACT...Expect wind gusts in excess of 34 knots, suddenly higher waves, frequent lightning, and heavy downpours. * Locations in the warning include... Gulfside 10 Reef, Raccoon Key, Snipe Point, Cottrell Key, Gulfside 8 Reef, Smith Shoal Light, and Content Keys.

Boaters should seek safe harbor as quickly, and as safely as possible. When downpours reduce visibility, slow down. Intense and continuous lightning is occurring with these storms. Stay low, or go below. Lower VHF antenna, outriggers, fishing rods, and umbrellas.
