Northeastern Santa Cruz County in southeastern Arizona... * Until 230 PM MST. * At 144 PM MST, a severe thunderstorm was located 9 miles northwest of Patagonia Lake State Park. This storm was stationary. HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and small hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Expect damage to roofs, siding, and trees. * Locations impacted include... Tubac, Rio Rico, Patagonia, Sonoita, Patagonia Lake State Park, Tumacacori, Amado, Madera Canyon and Arivaca Junction. This includes the following highways... Interstate 19 between mile markers 15 and 30. Route 82 between mile markers 14 and 33. Route 83 between mile markers 31 and 34.

Seek shelter inside a well-built structure and stay away from windows. This storm is capable of producing damaging winds. Continuous cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm. Lightning is one of nature's leading killers. Remember, if you can hear thunder, you are close enough to be struck by lightning. Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead to flash flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.
