Southeastern Roosevelt County in east central New Mexico... * Until 630 PM MDT. * At 606 PM MDT, a severe thunderstorm was located near Lingo, or 35 miles southeast of Portales, moving northeast at 20 mph. HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and small hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Expect damage to roofs, siding, and trees. * Locations impacted include... Causey and Lingo.

Seek shelter inside a well-built structure and stay away from windows. This storm is capable of producing damaging winds. Continuous cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm. Lightning is one of nature's leading killers. Remember, if you can hear thunder, you are close enough to be struck by lightning.
