Western Miami County in west central Ohio... * Until 400 PM EDT. * At 317 PM EDT, a severe thunderstorm was located near Arcanum, moving southeast at 25 mph. HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and penny size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Expect damage to trees and power lines. * Locations impacted include... Dayton, Troy, Trotwood, Piqua, Vandalia, Englewood, Greenville, Eaton, West Milton, Covington, Arcanum, Bradford, Lewisburg, West Alexandria, Pleasant Hill, New Madison, Clayton, Union, Brookville, and New Lebanon. This includes the following Interstates... I-70 in Ohio between mile markers 9 and 32. I-75 in Ohio between mile markers 53 and 55, near mile marker 57, and between mile markers 76 and 78.

For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a building. Large hail, damaging wind, and continuous cloud to ground lightning are occurring with this storm. Move indoors immediately. Lightning is one of nature's leading killers. Remember, if you can hear thunder, you are close enough to be struck by lightning. Torrential rainfall is occurring with this storm, and may lead to flash flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.
