Southeastern Hoke County in central North Carolina... * Until 530 PM EDT. * At 439 PM EDT, a severe thunderstorm was located near Fort Bragg, moving southeast at 40 mph. HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect wind damage to roofs, siding, and trees. * Locations impacted include... Fayetteville, Raeford, Fort Bragg, Dunn, Godwin, Antioch, Pope AAF, Hope Mills, Spring Lake, and Erwin. This includes Interstate 95 between Mile Markers 77 and 41.

What the agency told people to do

Straight line winds can blow down trees, power lines, and damage mobile homes and other buildings. Seek shelter in a sturdy structure until the storm has passed. Stay away from windows as flying debris generated by damaging winds can be deadly.
