Southwestern Caroline County in eastern Maryland... * Until 100 AM EDT. * At 1158 PM EDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line extending from Hillandale to Andrews Air Force Base to 7 miles east of La Plata, moving east at 45 mph. HAZARD...70 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. At 11:49 PM, Washington/Reagan National Airport gusted to 64 MPH. IMPACT...Minor damage to vehicles is possible. Expect considerable tree damage. Wind damage is also likely to mobile homes, roofs, and outbuildings. * Locations impacted include... Easton, Centerville, Talbot, Centreville, Trappe, St. Michaels, Preston, Oxford, Grasonville, Starr, Copperville, Choptank, Windyhill, Tanyard, Harmony, Tilghman Island, Stevensville, Skipton, Chester, and Matthews.

For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a building. In addition to large hail and damaging winds, frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with these storms.
