Check life saving equipment, including batteries on handheld radios, for readiness. Frequent lightning is occurring with this storm. If caught on the open water stay below deck if possible, keep away from ungrounded metal objects.
Expected Conditions
At 7:26 PM EDT, a strong thunderstorm was located 26 nm southeast of Tug Rio Caroni, or 29 nm south of R2 Tower, moving northeast at 15 knots. Hazard includes wind gusts 34 knots or greater. Small craft could be damaged in briefly higher winds and suddenly higher waves. The strong thunderstorm will remain over mainly open waters.
