Alert Details
A Special Marine Warning was issued by the National Weather Service in New Orleans on August 31 at 10:04 PM CDT. The alert is effective immediately and expires at 11:00 PM CDT on August 31.
Affected Areas
The warning covers Terrebonne Bay, Coastal Waters from Port Fourchon LA to Lower Atchafalaya River LA out 20 nm, and Coastal waters from Port Fourchon Louisiana to Lower Atchafalaya River LA from 20 to 60 NM. Impacted locations include Isle Derniers and Caillou Bay.

A cluster of severe thunderstorms capable of producing waterspouts was located along a line extending from near Atchafalaya Bay to near Isle Derniers to 36 nm southwest of Louisiana Offshore Oil Port, moving northwest at 20 knots. Hazards include waterspouts and wind gusts 34 knots or greater.
