A Special Marine Warning has been issued by the National Weather Service in Newport/Morehead City NC. The alert is effective from 11:25 PM EDT on August 23, 2026, until 12:30 AM EDT on August 24, 2026.

The warning covers Pamlico Sound; Neuse and Bay Rivers; areas south of Ocracoke Inlet NC to Cape Lookout NC out to 20 NM; and areas south of Cape Lookout NC to Surf City NC out to 20 NM. Impacted locations include the vicinity of Atlantic, the vicinity of Davis, Drum Inlet, and Ar275.
