Affected Areas

Pamlico Sound; Neuse and Bay Rivers; S of Cape Hatteras NC to Ocracoke Inlet NC out to 20 NM; S of Ocracoke Inlet NC to Cape Lookout NC out to 20 NM. Locations impacted include Ar255, Ocracoke, Ocracoke Inlet, Cedar Island, and the vicinity of Cedar Island.

What You Should Do

Move to safe harbor until hazardous weather passes. Frequent lightning is occurring with this storm. If caught on the open water stay below deck if possible, keep away from ungrounded metal objects.

At 2:55 AM EDT, a strong thunderstorm was located over Cedar Island, moving east at 15 knots. Hazard includes wind gusts to nearly 50 knots and small hail.
