Special Marine Warning issued by NWS Newport/Morehead City NC. Effective from June 13, 2026 at 2:55 AM EDT until June 13, 2026 at 4:00 AM EDT. Alert type code: MAW.
Affected Areas
Pamlico Sound; Neuse and Bay Rivers; S of Cape Hatteras NC to Ocracoke Inlet NC out to 20 NM; S of Ocracoke Inlet NC to Cape Lookout NC out to 20 NM. Locations impacted include Ar255, Ocracoke, Ocracoke Inlet, Cedar Island, and the vicinity of Cedar Island.
What You Should Do
Move to safe harbor until hazardous weather passes. Frequent lightning is occurring with this storm. If caught on the open water stay below deck if possible, keep away from ungrounded metal objects.
