Special Marine Warning issued by NWS Mobile AL. Effective from May 24 at 11:05 PM CDT until May 25 at 12:30 AM CDT.
Affected Areas
Coastal waters from Okaloosa-Walton County Line to Pensacola FL out 20 NM; Waters from Okaloosa-Walton County Line to Pensacola FL from 20 to 60 NM. Locations impacted include Okaloosa Deep Water Reef, Oriskany Reef, and Fort Walton Liberty Ship Reef.
What You Should Do
Move to safe harbor until hazardous weather passes. Frequent lightning is occurring with this storm. If caught on the open water stay below deck if possible, keep away from ungrounded metal objects.
Expected Conditions
At 11:03 PM CDT, a strong thunderstorm capable of producing waterspouts was located 11 nm southwest of Okaloosa Deep Water Reef, or 33 nm south of Mary Esther, moving north at 15 knots. Hazard includes waterspouts, wind gusts 34 knots or greater, and small hail.
