A Special Marine Warning (event code MAW) has been issued by the National Weather Service in Lake Charles LA. The alert is effective from June 16 at 5:02 AM CDT until June 16 at 6:30 AM CDT.

Coastal waters from Intracoastal City to Cameron LA out 20 NM; Waters from Cameron LA to High Island TX from 20 to 60 NM; Waters from Intracoastal City to Cameron LA from 20 to 60 NM. Locations impacted include West Cameron 215, West Cameron 248, West Cameron 205, East Cameron 81, West Cameron 178, West Cameron 198, West Cameron 110, West Cameron 100, West Cameron 144, West Cameron 196, West Cameron 173, East Cameron 47, West Cameron 192, West Cameron 170, East Cameron 46, West Cameron 171, and West Cameron 180.
What You Should Do
Move to safe harbor immediately as gusty winds and high waves are expected. Thunderstorms can produce sudden waterspouts. Waterspouts can easily overturn boats and create locally hazardous seas. Seek safe harbor immediately.
Expected Conditions
At 5:00 AM CDT, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing waterspouts was located 8 nm southwest of West Cameron 215, or 41 nm south of Cameron, moving north at 20 knots. Hazard includes waterspouts and wind gusts 34 knots or greater.
