A Special Marine Warning was issued by the National Weather Service in Tallahassee FL on August 2, 2026 at 11:49 AM CDT. The alert is effective immediately and expires at 1:15 PM CDT.
Affected Areas
The warning covers St. Andrews Bay Waterways; Coastal waters from Okaloosa-Walton County Line to Mexico Beach out 20 NM; Coastal Waters from Mexico Beach to Apalachicola out 20 NM; and Waters from Okaloosa-Walton County Line to Mexico Beach from 20 to 60 NM. Locations impacted include Panama City Beach, Laguna Beach, Mexico Beach, Sandestin, Miramar Beach, and Santa Rosa Beach.

Expected Conditions
Severe thunderstorms capable of producing waterspouts were located along a line extending from 8 nm northwest of Mexico Beach to 15 nm southwest of Panama City Beach to 8 nm southeast of Okaloosa Deep Water Reef, moving east at 20 knots. Hazards include waterspouts and wind gusts 34 knots or greater. Additional showers capable of waterspouts were located close to the Panhandle Coast between Panama City Beach and Destin.
