A Special Marine Warning has been issued by the National Weather Service in Newport/Morehead City NC. The alert is effective from 12:03 AM EDT on June 13, 2026, until 1:00 AM EDT on June 13, 2026.
Affected Areas
The warning covers Croatan and Roanoke Sounds; waters south of Currituck Beach Light NC to Oregon Inlet NC out to 20 NM; and waters from Currituck Beach Light to Oregon Inlet NC from 20 to 60 NM. Locations impacted include Nags Head, Kitty Hawk, Kill Devil Hills, and The Center Of Roanoke Sound.

Impacts include small craft damage in briefly higher winds and suddenly higher waves, along with high waves, dangerous lightning, and heavy rain.
