Affected Areas

Coastal waters from Cape Henlopen to Fenwick Island DE out 20 NM. Locations impacted include Indian River Inlet Bridge, Bethany Beach, and Fenwick Island.

What You Should Do

Move to safe harbor immediately as gusty winds and high waves are expected. Frequent lightning is occurring with this storm. If caught on the open water, stay below deck if possible and keep away from ungrounded metal objects.

Expected Conditions

At 10:15 PM EDT, a strong thunderstorm was located 9 nm west of Bethany Beach, moving east at 15 knots. Hazard includes wind gusts 34 knots or greater and small hail. Small craft could be damaged in briefly higher winds and suddenly higher waves.
